Marc Marquez continued his remarkable form in the 2025 MotoGP season, securing victory at the Grand Prix of Termas de Rio Hondo. The six-time world champion crossed the finish line a commanding 0.903 seconds ahead of his younger brother, Alex Marquez, with Francesco Bagnaia rounding out the podium in third.

This victory marks the third consecutive race in which Marquez and his competitors have claimed the top three spots, solidifying the trio's dominance this season. With this latest win, Marquez extends his lead in the championship standings to 11 points, setting the stage for an exhilarating race ahead at next week’s grand prix.

The race kicked off under moderate conditions with teams bracing for potential rain. Luckily, the light drizzle that threatened to disrupt the event dissipated, paving the way for a clean start. As the lights turned green, pole-sitter Marc Marquez executed a flawless start, seizing the lead immediately.

THE RACE

Alex Marquez also made an impressive move from the start, positioning himself in second place aboard the Gresini Ducati. In contrast, Johann Zarco struggled from his spot on the front row, slipping back to sixth as he fought for position against competitors like Bagnaia, Pedro Acosta, and Fabio Quartararo.

While Marc initially appeared poised to leave the pack behind, Alex quickly found his pace and positioned himself within striking distance for much of the race. Hopes for an epic sibling showdown were raised, but with just three laps remaining, the championship leader pulled away decisively, widening the gap to nearly a second and securing his victory. Bagnaia, who settled comfortably into a solitary third place by mid-race, maintained a significant gap ahead of Zarco. The Frenchman had staged a comeback to reclaim fourth but found himself too far adrift to challenge for a podium finish, despite his efforts to disengage from a fierce battle for fifth.

THE RACE

That duel ultimately involved Fabio di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, and Francesco Morbidelli, with di Giannantonio taking the honors. Behind them, Joan Mir claimed eighth for Honda, while Acosta earned the final point of the race, leaving Quartararo to finish in tenth. The weekend also witnessed unfortunate retirements, with Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira both exiting the race after a collision with Gresini's Fermin Aldeguer. As the MotoGP season heats up, all eyes will remain on Marc Marquez as he seeks to extend his lead in the championship and continue his extraordinary trajectory in what promises to be an electrifying season.
