Let's dive into the sneaker that has been all the rage this post-All-Star Weekend. Nike Basketball just unveiled their all-new GT Future. After being a sneakerhead for over a decade, you can usually spot the ones with brands with true staying power. Nike has once again proven why they are the top dogs in the sneaker world.
The GT Future is the fourth model of Nike’s "Greater Than" series which premiered back in 2021. The GT Future blends some of Nike’s sneaker heritage with forward-thinking futuristic design. The sculpted structure? A clear take from the Nike Zoom Hyperflight with a mix of the DNA from the iconic Air Foamposite One shell. It's a bold silhouette, that clearly has few equals.

Recently, D.C. rapper Wale gave us a sneak peek at the sneaker on feet. From that reflective teal colorway to the "Volt" colorway worn by Wale, he has done a great job at sharing teaser photos of the sneaker. However, the one colorway that has really caught my eye, and clearly many other sneakerheads online, is the colorway affectionately known as "Copper Egg."
The metallic bronze "shell" pops beautifully. It's sleek, futuristic, but still a current feel. Nike’s signature Swooshes on the sides provide that perfect contrast, tying in with the outsole and lining for a clean finish. The tongue, with its textured gray with silver Swooshes adds that extra bit of pop and adds to the futuristic design. Nike Basketball hasn’t released a future release date for the GT Future and the "Copper Egg" colorway. However, it has been revealed that the GT Futures are expected to hit shelves sometime this holiday season. It has also been rumored that the starting price will be $190 US—which feels about right for a tech-packed performance model like this.
