Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity Is Now Open
The Institute offers over 40,000 artifacts of Charles and Ray Eames’ personal collection.

One of the longest-lasting and dynamic relationships of the 20th-century design world, that also had the most lasting impact on the present generation of designers was the design duo, Charles and Ray Eames.
From their universally loved and timeless furniture to their creative short film, Powers of Ten (1977), (which was created to highlight the core pillars of the Eames’ design philosophy). About an hour northeast of San Francisco is the town of Richmond, California. Located here is the Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity which houses over 40,000 artifacts from the duo’s collection.
For the first time since its inception, it will be open for the public to view. From Molded Plywood Chairs and leather Lounge Chairs to various multi-color Storage Units, the Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity serves as a visual treat for design fans who want to learn about the Eames’ full portfolio of work all concentrated in a single location.
Llisa Demetrios, who is the granddaughter of Charles and Ray Eames and the institute’s chief curator, will be on location and guiding visitors around the space, which runs each week from Wednesday to Friday.
