Snoop Dogg has expanded his presence in the marijuana industry by opening his first licensed dispensary and introducing a line of cannabis products paying homage to rapper 2Pac.
Renowned for his association with marijuana, Snoop has embedded cannabis culture into his personal and professional brand for many years. His debut in California's legal industry includes the launch of his Los Angeles-based retailer store S.W.E.D. an acronym short for “Smoke Weed Everyday”. The dispensary incorporates elements from Snoop's tenure under Death Row Records, featuring a smoke-proof DJ booth, memorabilia, and graffiti quotes from the artist.
The dispensary will offer a catered selection of marijuana products, including a new line from Snoop's Death Row Records Cannabis brand. This product line honors rap icon 2Pac, whom Snoop befriended before his tragic death in 1997. According to Snoop, the line is a way to bring meaning to 2Pac's fans through products.
Additionally, Snoop previously launched a marijuana brand called Leafs By Snoop in Colorado in 2015. Beyond his commercial endeavors, Snoop has been an advocate for marijuana policy reform, including endorsing the use of cannabis for athletes as a safer alternative to prescription opioids.
