Nike and Martine Rose are rumored to be collaborating on a new sneaker, following the success of their Nike Shox mules. The collaboration is expected to focus on an archival 2001 sneaker model. The British menswear designer is known for her forward-thinking perspective and is anticipated to bring a fresh take to the brand's ongoing partnership.
Similar to Rose’s Shox styles, the Air Max Craze features a slip-on silhouette reminiscent of recent mule trends. The model includes a heel strap extending from the arched soles and a shallow counter for a secure fit, deviating from the fully exposed back. The neoprene uppers are printed and replace traditional laces with a zippered closure. Additionally, the chunky soles incorporate orange Nike Air units for cushioning and an exaggerated arch. The Air Max Craze features a zippered shroud similar to the Air Max Sunder and an open heel, aligning with the aesthetics of Rose’s past collaborations. Constructed primarily with neoprene, the model showcases a futuristic, wavy grid pattern in the example colorway.
Furthermore, Nike is set to revive the archived Air Max Craze model in 2025, with the involvement of British designer Martine Rose in the bring-back effort. Rose, who previously collaborated with Nike on the Air Monarch and various Shox projects, is recognized for her work through Kendrick Lamar, who sported Martine Rose Shox mules at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
Although an official release date has not been announced, Martine Rose’s Air Max Craze is rumored to launch in Fall 2025. Fans can anticipate updates on the collaboration from Frasspot.
