ROCKSTAR EDITOR
Gamers who still enjoy Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 4 and XBox One will no longer have some features from the game with the update to version 1.006.002.
The Grand Theft Auto developer announced earlier this year in January– plans to end support for Rockstar Editor in a support post on its website. The support post explained, "Rockstar Editor will no longer be available in Grand Theft Auto V and GTA V Online On PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles as of February 26, 2024." Rockstar further states the change is "necessary to allow us to support ongoing updates to these games on both platforms." Further stating, “This update will help to ensure the stability of these platforms and keep them updated with GTA Online additions for as long as possible,” Rockstar says. Rockstar Editor will survive on PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5. As of February 20, 2024, all saved clips and projects have been deleted.
GTA Online has kept Grand Theft Auto V thriving for the past sixteen years–while this move may make sense to support its Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5 players, PlayStation 4 and X Box One console players now have to consider purchasing newer gen consoles– to gain access to Rockstar Editor.
