Porsche has recently teased the announcement of a new 911 GT model for the latest generation of 911 (992.2). To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 911 GT3, Porsche has unveiled two versions of the GT models, the track-focused 911 GT3 and the understated version 911 GT3 with a Touring package.

The modifications to the design, characteristic of Porsche's style, are quite subtle. The front section has been adjusted with a new spoiler and underbody fins to enhance downforce, and the LED headlights have been restyled and are available with a white accent ring. Porsche has also integrated all lighting functions into the main headlight unit, eliminating the need for a supplementary LED strip in the bumper, which in turn allows for a larger air intake. The rear section has also been updated with a revised diffuser, air vents, and decklid, while the rear wing now includes redesigned side plates.

Under the hood of the new 911 GT3 is a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter boxer flat-six engine, having to deal with stringent emission regulations, Porsche had to install two particulate filters and four catalytic converters. Power remains steady at 502 hp, while torque dips from 346 to 331 lb-ft of torque. Porsche maintains this horsepower figure by implementing the camshaft profile from the 911 GT3 RS along with revised cylinder heads butterfly valves in the individual throttle bodies and new oil coolers.

Optional is a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) or a six-speed manual transmission, making that 4.0-liter rev to 9000 rpm. Porsche says both transmissions have a final drive ratio that is 8% shorter than the previous 911 GT3 model, the GT3 with PDK will do 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 193 mph, while the six-speed manual models will do the same run in 3.7 seconds with a top of 195-mph. According to Porsche, both gearboxes are optional for both the 911 GT3 and 11 GT3 with the Touring package.

Inside, is Porsche's new lightweight bucket seats that have a thorax airbag and powered height adjustment. The seats are heated and have removable headrest padding for track driving with a helmet. For those looking for even lighter options, there is an optional carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) seat shell available.
Additionally, the GT3 retains the classic rotary ignition switch, while the 911 Carrera models have switched to a push-button start for 2025. The digital gauge cluster offers a Track Screen mode, placing the 9,000 rpm limiter at the 12 o'clock position, in addition to displaying essential driving data and indicating the ideal time to shift gears. Furthermore, the cabin features a wireless charging pad, although its effectiveness may be limited during high-speed driving on a racetrack.

The GT3 Touring returns for the 2025 model now feature an active rear spoiler with a Gurney flap, replacing the swan-neck rear wing for a more subtle look. Additionally, the underbody strakes have been redesigned to enhance aerodynamics. Inside, Porsche has expanded the range of leather upholstery choices, and customers can now opt for a rear seat exclusively on the Touring model. The bucket seats come with a folding backrest to improve access to the rear seats.

Porsche is introducing the Weissach package to the 2025 GT3, which was previously exclusive to the GT3 RS. This package includes CFRP components such as the anti-roll bar, coupling rods, shear panel of the rear axle, roof, rear wing side plates, door handles, and side-view mirrors to reduce weight. The upper part of the dashboard is wrapped in Race-Tex suede fabric to minimize glare.

Moreover, the GT3 Touring is offered with its Lightweight package, featuring similar CFRP parts and offering the Weissach package's forged magnesium wheels. Models equipped with the manual transmission come with the shortened gear lever from the 911 S/T. Additionally, all cars with the Lightweight package have an interior plaque that reads "Leichtbau."
Orders for the 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 will open later this year, and the cars are expected to reach dealerships in the summer of 2025. The price for the GT3 will be $224,495, which represents a nearly $40,000 increase over the base price of the 2024 model. Porsche enthusiast can anticipate updates on the 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 with Touring Package from Frasspot.
