Toyota recently unveiled its new 6th-gen 4Runner, a staple within Toyota's lineup of off-road capable vehicles, known for its classic SUV design – is entering a new era. The 2025 Model is constructed on the robust TNGA-F global truck platform, elevating it with enhanced performance and modern tech.

Under the hood of the new 4Runner is the base i-FORCE turbocharged 2.4L four-cylinder engine, with an output of 278 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque – solely offered in the SR5 and TRD Sport models, and will be the based engine for the TRD Off-Road and Limited. For those seeking more power, the 2.4L i-FORCE Max 4Runner Hybrid, with its 48-horsepower electric motor integrated into an eight-speed transmission for a total output of 326 hp and 465 Ib-ft of torque – optional in the TRD Off-Road, and Limited, and will be standard in the TRD PRO, Trailhunter and Platinum.

For the first time, the new 4Runner will offer a Platinum model, a rugged exterior with an interior that encapsulates luxury. The 4Runner boasts a 14-inch touchscreen display, with Toyota's latest Audio Multimedia system and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 across all models.

The new 6th-gen 4Runner is constructed on Toyota's powerful TNGA-F global truck platform shared with Tacoma, Land Cruiser, Tundra, and Sequoia – the platform utilizes a high-strength boxed, steel-ladder frame and features a multi-link coil rear and double-wishbone front suspension. The improved fame and the enhanced strength of the i-FORCE Max powertrain allow for a towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds.

The 2025 4Runner is set to arrive at your local Toyota showrooms in the Fall of 2024; with no details on pricing and with a recent price hike on the new 2024 Tacoma – expect pricing to rise compared to the 2024 models, which started at $41,600 for the based model SR5 up to $56,565 for the TRD Pro.
