This summer, the Goodwood Festival of Speed will pay tribute to the remarkable legacy of World Superbike racing, with none other than four-time champion Carl Fogarty at the helm of this four-day celebration. From July 10th to the 13th, motorsport enthusiasts will gather in West Sussex to witness an extraordinary display of production-based racing machines - many of which are emblematic of Fogarty’s illustrious career.

Fogarty, hailing from Blackburn, is a name synonymous with dominance in the sport during the 1990s. His world titles in 1994, 1995, 1998, and 1999 resonated deeply with a burgeoning fanbase in the UK, eagerly tuning in to cheer for the biker who transformed the landscape of motorcycle racing. His feats drew crowds of over 100,000 to British events at Brands Hatch, a testament to his electrifying performances and charisma.

This year's festival is particularly special for Fogarty, who will once again find himself astride his iconic 1995 Ducati 916. Attendees can expect to see this classic machine take center stage during the festival's breathtaking 1.16-mile hill climb, where Fogarty is likely to thrill the crowd with his signature flair, possibly showcasing a wheelie or two as he speeds past the historic Goodwood House.

Despite his retirement in 2000, following a shoulder injury at the Australian round, Fogarty’s influence remains palpable. He holds an impressive record, with only Jonathan Rea, who has six championships, eclipsing his achievements. Currently, Fogarty ranks third for the most wins in the sport’s history, trailing Rea and Alvaro Bautista.
