The new 911 Carrera T is the ideal model for the purtist, but we nailed the spec

Porsche recently released the new version of the 911 Carrera T and 911 Carrera T Convertible, offering an ideal lightweight Carrera for purists. So, you got six figures ready to spend and a burning desire for a flat-six engine fun with no clue where to start? We’ve got you. The new version of the 911 Carrera T convertible is powered by the same twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat-six as the based Carrera, in addition to the six-speed gearbox from the previous 992.1 model – combined output for the 911 Carrera T convertible rests at 388 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque, with a claimed top speed of 182 mph.

Now, for our spec, for starters, we wanted to keep the budget under $165k, anything over $165k is approaching GTS prices, which is not ideal. Our spec should remain mainly factory with additional options such as staggered wheels and styling cues for an OEM plus look.

PORSCHE

Exterior Paint: Shade Green Metallic ($2,980) a Legends Color option; these colors are special tones from different color spaces within Porsche's configurator. First Introduced with the (992) 911 Dakar, an off-road variation of the 911 models, the shade green metallic paint is almost like Chalk but with a teal tint depending on the time of day, the color represents elegance, modernity, and timelessness.

PORSCHE

Exterior Options: For the exterior, we added the SportsDesign Package ($4,880) a mandatory check for our spec, as the standard bumpers and side skirts come in black plastic trim. The SportsDesign Package adds Shade Green Metallic to the front and rear bumper along with the side skirts. For Lights, we added HD-Matrix Design LED Headlights ($1,780) and attempted to select the “911 Carrera T Side Decals” deletion but we received an error message “The selected option is currently not available.”

PORSCHE

Wheels & Tire Package: For wheels and tires we kept the standard 20"/21" Carrera GTS S Wheels, but we changed the color to a Satin Black finish, a no-cost option. The wheels on our spec a 245/35/ZR 20 on the front and 245/35/ZR 21 on the rear, fitted to performance summer tires.

PORSCHE

Interior Color and Trim: For the interior, we kept the black leather with plaid-sport-tex, this option is more than suitable for our spec. So what's included? You get black leather in high touchpoint areas such as the steering wheel, grab handles, armrest, gear lever boot, and the center console; in addition to a tonal "911" logo embroidered into the seat headrest. Also included as standard, is the black leather Sport Seats Plus with 4-way adjustability, the seat center has a plaid-sport-tex weave styling which is also included in the rear seats – standard on the convertible but optional on the coupe. Last, we upgraded to the BOSE Surround Sound System ($1,600) for a well-balanced audio experience. However, we recommend the Burmester High-End Surround Sound System for a more audiophile experience, if your budget allows for it.

Performance & Packages Options:  For performance options, we added Porsche's Front Axle Life System ($2,980) now enhanced with GPS location for easy front-end lift, and  Porsche's Active Suspension Management (PASM), standard in the Carrera T.

Total Cost: $163,515 (Base Price: $147,300)

The price referenced above is based on a 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera T Convertible with the six-speed sports manual transmission and Sport Chrono Package. The cost reflects the Base MSRP, the equipment price ($14,220), and Delivery, Processing, and Handling Fees ($1,995). How did we manage to retain $1,485 and remain within budget? For starters, Knowing the intended use of the vehicle can help you choose what is important and what is not, along with keeping your options to the bare minimum. Initially, we updated to the Burmester High-End Surround and added the HD-Matrix Design LED Headlights in Black which was way over budget. For our spec, we intended for it to be somewhere between a daily driver, weekend spirited driver, or plus one road trip sports car – in that case, we upgraded to the Bose Surround Sound System from standard, offering a balanced audio experience, while the only difference between the regular HD-Matrix Design Headlights and the HD-Matrix Design LED Headlights in black, is the housing colors, in my option, it’s not worth the extra $750 increase from the regular HD-Matrix Design Headlights.

The 2025 Carrera T Convertible is available in a manual-only option, while standard Carrera in its Coupe, Cabriolet, Targa, and GTS forms will have a PDK-only transmission.
