A contemporary take on Y2K fashion.

BEAMS

During 2022, the Beams’ “BEAMS Future Archive” label experienced a quick ascension to the forefront of Japanese Fashion. Since the grand opening of its brick-and-mortar store in Tokyo’s fashionable Harajuku district, BEAMS’ FUTURE ARCHIVE has now introduced its Japanese audience to its Spring/Summer 2024 collection.

This year’s collection, whose central theme has been entitled “DIRTY HARD BLING,” explores the Y2K aesthetic adding a contemporary twist into the mix. The Y2K aesthetic, known for its chaotic style and color palette, finds itself being expressed by BEAMS through the lens of contemporary British street/celebrity fashion and the “Gyaru” subculture of Japan.

Stand-out pieces from this collection include a pair of Japanese-made denim that has been heavily processed. A variety of pairs of low-rise denim that come in various lengths and hem openings. Some other stand-out pieces from the collection include a mesh and fluffy zip-up and a contrasting color sweatshirt. Closing out this this collection are other offerings such as belts, chains, and other accessories that feature cross and skull motifs.

BEAMS’ Future Archive Spring/Summer 2024 collection will be available online on January 19 at BEAMS Official Online Shop and BEAMS Harajuku Annex.
