POLO RALPH LAUREN

Naiomi Glasses refers to the Navajo rodeo culture as her “first love,” growing up within the culture of the Navajo rodeo and being from a long line of Navajo weavers. Glasses has since aimed to impart the spirit, history, and techniques in every collection she has created with Ralph Lauren. This collection, the Denim Daydream capsule, will be her third and final collaboration collection with the Ralph Lauren brand for its “Artist in Residence” program - a program created by Ralph Lauren meant to “expand its portrayal of America” and collaborate with the communities that have historically inspired the aesthetic and designs of the Ralph Lauren brand.

For this collection, Glasses used the color indigo as an homage to the Navajo rodeo culture she grew up around and the signature attire worn by its contestants. The Denim Daydream collection will contain less than 30 curated men’s, women’s, and unisex pieces decorated with traditional Navajo design details. Within the collection, there will be an indigo jacket inspired by the trophy jackets one would see the winner of the rodeo wear.

The collection will also contain a pair of jeans with brown suede panels on the front of the legs and a collared shirt in denim and blue with contrast piping paired with a cowboy hat and metal belts. To go along with the curated clothing pieces, Glasses curated a selection of turquoise and silver jewelry created by various Navajo artisan families.

The Denim Daydream collection is available now on the Polo Ralph Lauren website.
