As we continue to mourn the death of Brooklyn's Rapper Bashar Barakah Jackson, formerly known as Pop Smoke – a trial date is now set for one of the individuals involved in the senseless slaying of the Brooklyn rapper.

According to Rolling Stone, Corey Walker, who was 19 at the time of the murder, will begin his trial on June 25th, in Los Angeles. Mr. Walker was the sole adult defendant and pleaded guilty in a juvenile court case to voluntary manslaughter and home invasion robbery – He was 20 years old during that court proceeding.

Bashar Pop Smoke Jackson was visiting Los Angeles in February 2020 when he shared an Instagram post of a gift bag from a clothing brand. The post revealed the address of the Hollywood Hills in which Pop Smoke was staying – later that evening, four attackers broke into the home and shot Pop Smoke three times before robbing him of his Rolex watch

The prosecutors are arguing that Walker was “the researcher, getaway driver, weapons provider, and planner of this home invasion robbery, as mentioned by Rolling Stone.

Christopher Darden is Walker's defense attorney and maintains that his client served as the getaway driver and remained in the car throughout the attack.
