This is not a drill - ScHoolboy Q is back with new music. The Top Dawg rapper has announced his long anticipated sixth studio album, Blue Lips, five years after CrasH Talk (2019). On February 6th, Q gave fans an early listen, releasing visuals for Blueslides and the Devin Malik assisted Back n Love for just 24 hours. Yeern 101, released February 15th, was named as the album’s official lead single, though more previews were expected. Less than a week later, he followed up with Cooties and Love Birds.
If we know anything about ScHoolboy Q, it’s that he’s been known to do things on his own time. Last year during an interview on the Back on Figg podcast, he explained why he doesn’t feel the need to release an album every year. “When it comes to music, I don’t look at it as like, ‘Oh, you have to drop every year.’ I’m like, no, your favorite rapper has to drop every year because he needs chilli. I do what I want because I move off peace, I move off my experiences.”
In a tweet earlier today, the rapper also hinted at a possible feature on the hugely awaited Grand Theft Auto 6. Blue Lips will be out this Friday, March 1st. Stay tuned for updates.
